MORGENDORFFER: Quinn - !
QUINN: I'm sorry, Admiral.
O'Neill speaks into her wrist recorder.
O'NEILL: Your Excellency, have you been listening?
INT. RELIANT BRIDGE. CAMERA PANS along Li's arm to wrist radio and up to her face.
LI: I have indeed, Captain.
INT. ROCKY CAVERN
LI'S VOICE: You have done well.
TOM: I know it! - You son-of-a...
Tom makes a reckless break for O'Neill, Tiffany instantly throws herself on him bringing him down as O'Neill fires, hitting Kevin, who was behind Tom -a killing ray. Kevin dematerializes. Trent SCREAMS and Tom reacts with horror and guilt. Most importantly, Quinn begins to tremble. O'Neill himself is shaken by his reflexive action. He's in semi-panic.
O'NEILL: Don't move - Anybody!
LI'S VOICE: Captain? We are waiting.
INT. RELIANT BRIDGE - FAVORING LI. Cartwright over her shoulder. Others in evidence. Li speaks into the console.
LI: What's the delay?
INT. ROCKY CAVERN - REGULA
O'NEILL: All is well, sir. You - you have the coordinates to beam up the poster...
INT. RELIANT BRIDGE
LI: First thing's first, Captain. Kill Admiral...
INT. ROCKY CAVERN - REGULA
LI'S VOICE: ...Morgendorffer.
Reactions by all - only Morgendorffer and Lane are unsurprised. Tom and Tiffany, dazed, fight the urge to do something. Quinn is close to a seizure. O'Neill fights conflicting mental signals.
INT. RELIANT BRIDGE
O'NEILL'S VOICE: Sir, that is difficult. I try to obey, but...
LI: Kill him!
INT. ROCKY CAVERN - REGULA
O'NEILL: I...
As though tearing off a leach, O'Neill grabs at the wrist recorder and flings it to the ground. A shockwave of pain hits O'Neill. He recovers, trembling and tries to obey. Quinn is shaking badly. O'Neill aims his phaser at Morgendorffer. Quinn slowly raises her phaser and aims at O'Neill, though her hands are like lead. We THINK Quinn is going to do the right thing. Then, shockingly, O'Neill turns the phaser on himself.
LI'S VOICE: (still emanates from wrist recorder) Kill him, O'Neill. Now.
O'Neill does, blowing himself into oblivion.
ANGLE - FAVORING QUINN. She SCREAMS, horribly, drops her phaser, clutching her head. Lane leaps to her side, pulls an injection device from her belt pack, jabs it into Quinn's arm. Quinn, almost with a sigh of relief, drops.
LANE: God sakes!
They rush to her side, as do Trent and Tom
ANGLE - FAVORING QUINN. From the fallen woman's ear, something begins to emerge.
VERY CLOSE - QUINN'S EAR. The Ceti eel crawls out. It has grown quite large.
LOW ANGLE - MORGENDORFFER. Horror from all. Morgendorffer picks up a phaser. As the eel clears Quinn, she fires and destroys it. She shudders, then sees the wrist recorder and grabs it.
MORGENDORFFER: Li, you dirty bloodsucker!!
INT. RELIANT BRIDGE .
MORGENDORFFER'S VOICE: You're going to have to do your own dirty work now! Do you hear me?! Do you?!
Li reacts to Morgendorffer's Voice: electric shock. She clutches the communicator, her eye-whites rolling.
LI: Morgendorffer! Morgendorffer, you're still alive - my old friend...
INT. ROCKY CAVERN - FAVORING MORGENDORFFER
MORGENDORFFER: Still `old friend.' You've managed kill just about everyone else.
INT. RELIANT BRIDGE
MORGENDORFFER'S VOICE: But like a poor marksman, you keep missing the target.
LI: (ironic) Perhaps I no longer need to try.
She punches several buttons.
INT. ROCKY CAVERN - REGULA. In the rocky cavern the transporter beam locks on to the poster and the others near by. As Morgendorffer and the others watch, horrified, Li beams up the materials. Tom tries to reach the pile, but Tiffany holds him fast -
TOM: No - he can't take it - !
The beam disappears and the poster with it, leaving them alone.
MORGENDORFFER: (desperate) Li, Li, you've got the poster...
INT. RELIANT BRIDGE
MORGENDORFFER'S VOICE: ... but you don't have me! You were going to kill me, Li! You're going to have to come down here! You're going to have to come down here!
LI: I've done far worse than kill you. I've hurt you. And I wish to go on hurting you. I shall leave you, as you left me -
INT. ROCKY CAVERN -REGULA
LI'S VOICE: ... as you left her. Marooned for all eternity in the center of a dead planet -
INT. RELIANT BRIDGE
LI: Buried alive!
INT. ROCKY CAVERN - REGULA
LI'S VOICE: Buried alive!
MORGENDORFFER: Li!
EXT. REGULA PLANET SURFACE. CAMERA PULLS UP and BACK over rocky surface.
MORGENDORFFER'S VOICE: Li!
INT. RELIANT BRIDGE. Li closes her eyes in voluptuous satisfaction.
