A Daria / Babylon 5 Crossover

Daria quickly checked to see if anyone was near by as she hid behind her house. She knew she could quit at any time. She was strong. She knew she was. She just wanted another hit. She bent over, picked up the animal out of the pool, and took in the aroma.

Sniffing penguin wasn't that bad she thought as she made her way back into the house nearly tripping over the lounge chair.

"I still can't believe that Ms. Li and Ms. Barch got fired and arrested. I'm trying to figure out why they were peddling nude photos of Mrs. Johansen to preschoolers. Who would buy them?" Jane shuddered in revulsion.

"At least we have a new principal." Daria opined. "Too bad it's someone Mr. DeMartino met in Washington. I just hope he's not too high strung."

The intercom turns on with a few loud clicks. The man speaks with a drier deadpan than Daria's.

"Good morning students. My name is Mr. Stein. Ben Stein. I would like to start off with attendence." We hear some papers shuffling in the background. "Bueller?" A pause. "Bueller?"

Daria hangs her head. "I think I need a day off."

Jane once again tried to peer into the darkness of the room. She could see the shadows of men standing and sitting just out of the light of the single bulb hanging naked directly over her. She tried not to shudder once again as she turned back to the elderly man sitting opposite her. He was dressed in a very expensive three piece suit and spent most of the time polishing his glasses as he asked her a number of random questions. Jane was trying her pest not to appear nervous but after being asked questions about her favorite color and what she watched on television three nights ago, it was finally getting to her.

"Look, I've answered all your questions. I don't know what kind of job this is for but I'm not answering anything more until someone explains what is going on here!" Jane yelled at the silent men around her. She was beginning to think it was for some bizarre sexual act. Well, it wouldn't be the first time...

A small chuckle is heard from the group and Jane looks at the uncomfortably. A second man stepped into the light. He paused for a second to light a cigarette. Jane noticed that it was a Morley.

"Ms. Lane, you're being reassigned to work with another FBI agent. His name is Mulder. Fox Mulder...

Daria pulled out the books that she would need for her first few classes and closed her locker. She turned and her mouth dropped as Jane approached holding the flipper of an emperor penguin. They stopped in front of her as Jane pointed down at the penguin.

"Say hello to my little friend," Jane said with a smirk.

"So, are you enjoying your birthday party?"

Mack just smiled as he swallowed the bite of cake Jodie, sitting in his lap, had just forked into his mouth.

"Actually, yes. Usually, I hate surprise parties, and I'd rather be alone with you, but having all these people here" - he gestured to the small mob of Lawndale High students milling about the Landon house - "is kind of fun."

"I'm glad," she said with a smile, then kissed him.

Suddenly, there was a minor comotion. The various party goers were reacting to something, muttering to themselves. Mack and Jodie both strained to see what it was.

Then they saw it.

"Oh, God," Mack moaned, "Please, God, no."

Daria pulled back with a smirk on her face. "Jodie, I kissed your boyfriend."

Jane shook her head with a sad sigh. "Dangit, he did another one."
