It's natural for an intelligent person to question his or her own sanity from time to time. In fact, some say such doubts are actually a sign of mental health.

But not us. We say, if you're here at our website, you're probably at least a little bit crazy.

The real question is: How insane are you? Are you simply pathologically anxious based on your frequent exposure to bizarre stressors? Are you mildly unhinged due to your active participation in the perverse and paranormal? Or are you a complete wack job who poses an immediate and grave risk to yourself and others?

We here at the HPLHS frequently question our own sanity, and not without reason. In consultation with top experts from Sefton Asylum, we have developed a self-administered assessment questionnaire: the HPLHS SaniTest ™. It can help you determine just how insane you are.

Be warned: the SaniTest ™ is not a diagnostic instrument. It cannot detect, for example, the subtle warning signs of Tillinghast's Complaint, nor distinguish between apotembnophilia and repetitive self-harm syndrome. But it can accurately assess the severity of your general insanity. If you have any doubts at all about your own mental health -- and if you've read this far you should -- we urge you to take the test. If you have no doubts about your sanity, then you should seek professional help at once, because only a complete lunatic thinks he's sane.

Nigeria's Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala stated that Internet search technology company Google has selected Abuja as one of seven African cities to be fully connected with its wireless network. Iweala said that she was assured of this during her meeting with Google's CEO. The Google project is one of the United States-based company's projects earmarked for selected African countries. The project is also part of Google's social responsibility projects.

Of course Nigeria is home to most of the 419 scam spams.

Google may be trying to do something nice but is failing completely.

"I'm telling you, Jane. When she does it, all the guys will faint. Ten bucks?"

"No way. They're not stuck on her that much. Twenty. Wait, there she is."

"Quinn, I need to talk to you."

"What is it, Daria? I'm busy trying to be popular."

"Quinn, I just need a quick favor. I want you to go out ino the middle of the hallway and take a deep breath."

Quinn's eyes narrowed. "Is this some kind of trick?"

"No trick. I just want to prove something to Jane here."

"OK..."

Quinn took a few steps into the middle of the happway and stopped in an empty spot. She was, of course, the center of attention. She looked around for a moment and then took a deep breath.

Most of the male population near her immediately fainted.

"Damn, she's good. That was almost worth the twenty bucks." Jane handed it over to Daria.

"Nice doing business with you."

Arun gives us a link to an intersting web tool: CoComment. This is a tool where you can keep track of your comments on other blogs. It appears to use a BookMarklet to do so. I'm still reading up on it so bear with me.

It's currently by invite only and I don't have any codes handy. (Arun's site has some listed and I used the last one on the page.) If I get some, I'll go ahead and post it.

Edit: And it doesn't work with Netscape so I guess it's moot. *shrug*

For awhile around here, they were showing these really annoying commercials for Fanta (a kind of fruit-flavored drink) that showed four women in brightly colored outfits singing a catchy yet irritating jingle. They called themselves "The Fantanas." All I could think every time those commercials came on (well, besides "where is the dang mute button?") was "I bet the fashion club would look good in those outfits." So naturally I couldn't resist drawing them as the Fantanas. Check it out here.

Daria and Quinn walk out of their house to the sight of a classic Volkswagen Beetle parked at the curb. Quinn frowns.

Quinn - What kind of car is that?

Daria - That's not a car. It's a time machine.

Quinn looks at it.

Daria - Oh, it's big enough alright.

Daria immediately blushes and covers her mouth. Quinn smiles and turns to her sister,

IDreamInRed asked me for an example of how WordPress handles a trackback. I've copied it below: Let's explain this first. I first made a post back here on April 29th, 2005 where I ran my characters through a scene from Star Trek 2, the Wrath of Khan. Yesterday, I came up with another scene of the same general idea. To give my visitors something else to read I placed a link at the bottom of the second story. Wordpress will take this as a trackback. Some blog softwares will not.

To play it doubly safe, I also placed a trackback in the box under Trackbacks on my Write Post page. That's why you see two pages on the screenshot, not just one like you would normally see.
