PingGoat

| | Comments (0)
We've been discussing the status of Pingomatic over at the WordPress.com Support Forums and MuTube mentioned PingGoat as the service that he uses when PingOMatic is down. I just wanted to mention it here.

Andrea R asked for copies of the Girl in Green and Reflections themes created by Stacey Leung. I hope she won't mind. I asked her about adding in widget support but haven't heard anything back yet.

Internet Exploder will harm your machine Granted it's from 2004 but still....

Another Shout Out

| | Comments (0)
Raymond over at WordPress.com is having an issue with getting search engines to pick up his blog. Just a quick shout out in an attempt to get them to pay attention.
Nope :) Used to be able to but not anymore.

Yesterday, we installed the latest version of Wordpress MultiUser to give it a test drive and "kick the tires." As you may be aware, Dr. Mike does a lot of tech support over at the WordPress.com Support Forums as well as his own hosting company. I've desided to go ahead and try MU out for myself.

Still have a lot to do though. Widgets are installed but only a couple of the standard themes. Each theme added into the mix needs to be checked for MU support (which should be fine out of the box), Widget support (that usually needs to be checked), and links back to this website need to be added as well. Doesn't take too long but it does show the need to double check everything.

Feel free to Create a New Blog with us today. There's not much here yet but things will ramp up fairly quickly we feel.

Any questions? Drop by our Support Forums and give out a yell. There's not much there either but I'm sure things will get busy fairly quickly.

Thanks again for visiting,

Yes, It's been a while, I know. Lots going on.

Still doing a lot of question answering over at the WordPress.com Support Forums. I see though that they reworked their FAQs to include a lot more answers. Hopefully that'll help.

I've gone ahead and installed a copy of WordPress MultiUser over on an unused domain to give it a try. There are themes and widgets installed but please remember that it's an Alpha install. I have alot more planned for it in the future.

I made the mistake and stuck up my email address for a user in the WordPress.com forums. Been flooded with requests for help, both from WordPress.com users and from those who have their blogs elsewhere. (I don't know why they're reading the WP.com forums though) I'm tempted to direct them to the forums as they're not clients of mine but still I guess I should help.

The Kim Possible: Remixed Webcomic has been loaded up with two posts a day for the next few months. That seems to be generating some interest. It's a new month. Be sure and vote for it. :)

Installed some forums for use. I have to go back and create a bit of code to save new users from the Free Blog Hosting into it. That's this afternoon's project. (I would think that it would be a simple MySQL line. Just have to find where it goes though within the code.)

Lots of fun.

Yup, still here. Buried under Support tickets with the hosting company I run, support requests over at the WordPress.com Support Forums, trying to get the Kim Possible: Remixed Webcomic loaded with new works as well as copy over the old ones that I've done (Be sure to take a second and vote over there by the way. It's a new month and we're actually doing well.), work on both my current fanfiction works, Kim Possible: Mission to Hell and Daria - Star Frontiers: Crash on Volturnus and figure out why that damn shelf takes so long to load and cover up. Plus I need to package up the Random Name Generator and release it via SourceForge.Net. Yup, I've got a busy life. 35 items on my personal to do list.

*ANYWAY*

Just a quick shout out to ViperAlley.com and it's Internet Radio Station. Until 4PM US Eastern United States time or so, they play Pink Floyd music. Kind of nice listening to it instead of having to spend lots of time searching for the stuff. Give it a listen to it today. They play a sort of Techo mix after 4PM which isn't too bad either. Of course, you need to install WinAmp to listen to it.

We've been talking a bit about Doctor Who fanfiction over at one of the Kim Possible Forums and I wanted to direct their users to a Daria - Doctor Who fanfiction work written by Yui Daoren called Doctor Who Gives a Damn. Problem is the site censor is eating the title and throwing in a changed word causing the link to become a 404.

So I'm going to link to this post and then have you go over there from here.

Hope this helps,
-drmike

Doctor Who Gives a Damn

Darth Comrade gives us Kim's Empire.

Have you ever pictured a Dark Kim? Have you ever wondered where she would strike first in Middleton? Leading Drakken's forces she sets an example to those who resist her new Empire.
