Made some changes

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

I've been having a few issues around here with my blog and the webcomic so I've made some changes. I hope you don't mind.

Over at the webcomic, I noticed that the search output and the archives were not displaying the screen capture. That's been fixed.
Google has been sending me some really weird inbounds and I've had some weird adverts show up on the Google Adsense display. I think part of that was Google's spiders were picking up on the Category and Archive lists in the sidebar. I've gone ahead and mover the Categories and the Monthly Archives to their own separate pages. I'm still having Calender adverts show up but I'm hoping that those will go away shortly.
New Poll to your left. Be sure to hit it for me.
New theme as well. Not so sure about it yet but I guess it'll have to do for now.

Thanks again for visiting.

Found this site full of, um, interesting wallpapers for your desktop, all with a Mac theme. Check them out.

I wish I could find the whole thing but here's part of it.

The RIAA & MPAA are taking a strong interest in YouTube videos of copyrighted content the past few months, judging from activity in our forums. Users are increasingly receiving the same DMCA takedown request letters frequently dished out to ISPs, who forward them on to p2p users on their networks. Project Opus claims the warnings are even being applied to videos of amateur dancers who are getting their groove on to copyrighted music.

From here and discovered from here.

Really makes me want to run out and buy a couple albums now.

Vicious Dog Pack kills Gator In Florida -- Dogs Savage Everglade Alligator

At times nature can be cruel, but there is also a raw beauty, and even a certain justice manifested within that cruelty. The alligator, one of the oldest and ultimate predators, normally considered the "apex predator" in it's natural eco-system, can still fall victim to implemented "team work" strategy, made possible due to the tight knit social structure and "survival of the fittest pack mentality", bred into the canines over the last several hundreds of years by natural selection. See the attached remarkable photograph courtesy of Nature Magazine.

Note that the Alpha dog has a muzzle hold on the gator preventing it from breathing, while the remainder of the pack prevents the beast from rolling. Not for the squeamish!

Just signed in over at Technorati and discovered that my main blog here is now ranked 98,858th with links from 31 other sites.

Still can't get Technorati to update my blog though. They say that I haven't updated in 57 days but it's nice to be noticed.

Alvin and the Chipmunks in a way you've never seen or heard them before.

Why couldn't the show have been like this?

It looks like my backup site of my webcomic is in 86th place for most traffic over at WordPress.com.

44th for English blogs.

77th for Growing Blogs.

The main site is usually first or second for the BOTD program for WordPress blogs hosted on the net. I still can't get it to work though over on this site though.

Who would have though it?

Andy gives us a few ideas on how to promote one's blog or website. Feel free to read the comments as well as this thread over on the WordPress.com Support forums.

I'm big on including links in the sigs of any posts that you make at forums. Search engines pick up on them as well as other forum readers.

Short and sort of sweet. Just some Doctor Who fun
