March 2007 Archives

[digg=http://digg.com/playable_web_games/Got_called_a_spammer_this_morning/] *chuckle* Gotta love this: I've been playing RuneScape for the past few days and spending time over at Sal's Runescape forum. I had a question about carrying gold and asked it. During the discussion, I thanked the responders for their responses trying to be polite. Imagine my surprise when I get a note from a moderator over there stating that I had spammed. His reasoning was that if a post does not add to the content of the discussion, it would automattically be considered spam. While I agree with that rule, can understand it and fully support it, please note that my thanking folks for their time is considered spam. That means politeness is spammy. Whoa! I also disagree with that I didn't add to the content of the discussion. My thanking folks acknowledged that I read the discussion and thanked them for their time. I had been told by another moderator that we should always stated that we had our questions answered and that's what I did. So I'm an evil spammer. I guess I should go hang my head in shame. Mind you that the forums are filled with worse issues that are being ignored. Bloodly hell.

Thanks Judyb12!

Just a quick note of thanks to Judyb12. She dropped some support into my Paypal Account. I've very thankful for it. As I stated a few days ago, I'm trying to get up enought for rent for April. I was going to try a local day labor place this morning but it rained here in Charlotte. Maybe tomorrow... Thanks again, Judy!

I loaded the Kim Possible: Remixed webcomic up for a couple of weeks. I'll add in more later this weekend. Please be sure to vote for it!
How not to run a compaign Full article here. Discovered here So John McCain has a MySpace account. I guess nearly everybody does now a day. Only one problem. He or one of his staffers desided to use a well know template created by NewsVineFounder and CEO Mike Davidson. Only one problem. Mr. Davidson asked to receive credit for the use of the template if used. Also users of the template had to host their own image files within their space. McCain’s site used his template, but didn’t give Davidson credit. Worse, he says, they used the images that were on his server, meaning he had to pay for the bandwidth used from page views on McCain’s site. Davidson got even though by changing the URL of the images so that McCain's site displayed what's post up above. Technorati Tags: , ,
From the AP Wire: ‘Monster’ Toad Captured Down Under
DARWIN, Australia -- An Australian environmental group said it has captured a toad the size of a small dog. The toad weighs nearly 2 pounds and is among the largest specimens ever captured Down Under. It's a male too, which Frogwatch said is unusual. Frogwatch is dedicated to wiping out a toxic toad species that has killed countless Australian animals since it was imported from South America in the 1930s in a failed attempt to control beetles on sugar cane plantations. Frogwatch conducts regular raids on local water holes, then blinds the creatures with bright lights, scooping them up by the dozen. The toads are killed with carbon dioxide gas and put through a liquid fertilizer process that renders them nontoxic.

I'm sure you've head about Google Fight by now where you can Linus Torvalds matches up against Bill Gates or finally prove to yourself that Coke is better than Pepsi by comparing Google results between two different words. Bringing it to the next level we have Search Engine Smackdown. Using the heavy weights of the Search Engine field, see how much trivia you know about the history of the market. Debbie Herman of Eagle Mountain and Sharon Bloom of Noel, Mo., eat at Saratoga Springs McDonald's, which resembles a coffee shopSomething you don't see every day. A McDonalds done up as a coffee house. I wonder if the employees still have to wear the paper hats though or do they get something classier.

Just a quick heads up to let folks know that I'm planning on taking the rest of the week off. I'm currently working on trying to get as much done as I can and also move my personal sites around to a new server. That's why daria.be is currently down. Please bare with me. I'm taking some time off away from the computer to hopefully work for a day labor place that's recently opened near where I live. I had a $182 repair bill on my laptop this month, I had to take that out of next month's rent payment, and I have a feeling that I"m going to come up short. Living on a disability check is not fun and I'm still not making enough on hosting to pull out any money from that. (There's some legal issues with that as well thanks to my ex.) A quick note of thanks to David W. Boles and the folks over at OneInspiredDude.com for dropping some change into the donation box. It was a big help. If you care to donate, please use the link to Paypal over there in the right on the sidebar. I would be very grateful.
