Mecklenburg County officials are stepping up patrols at the Vietnam Memorial in Charlotte after skateboard wheel marks were found at the site. Parks and recreation crews used pressure washers yesterday to erase the wheel marks. Department spokesman Mike Cozza says officials found out about the marks after a veterans' group filed a police report last weekend. Cozza says the skateboarders, in his words, "went horizontal" on the gray granite wall, leaving the marks. All that was left Tuesday were drying wet spots from the cleaning. Parks and Recreation employees do not staff the park full time, but Cozza said the department would increase patrols. No one has been charged in the case.Gotta admit that I just find that rude and disrespectful. Vietnam

Some people have no respect. Others misplace their respect when they drink. In Ottawa we had a case of a three drunks who were videoed peeing our national war monument. http://www.canada.com/globaltv/national/story.html?id=59a938ed-ade1-4297-baa0-ae45c568212f
