Taken from here:

A Southern California McDonald's official said Egg McMuffin inventor Herb Peterson has died in Santa Barbara at age 89.

Monte Fraker, vice president of operations for McDonald's restaurants in Santa Barbara, said Peterson died peacefully at his home Tuesday.

Peterson came up with idea for the signature McDonald's breakfast item in 1972.

He began his career with McDonald's as vice president of the company's advertising firm, D'Arcy Advertising, in Chicago.

He wrote McDonald's first national advertising slogan, "Where Quality Starts Fresh Every Day," and eventually became a franchisee.

Reading the Wikipedia entry for the McMuffin shows that McDonalds didn't have much interest in the idea.  Back then, McDonalds only served lunch and dinner.  The article makes note that Mr. Peterson was actually reprimanded him for serving breakfast and threatened him with a number of penalties for going against his franchise agreement.

I'm sure a lot of folks are happy that they decided not to.  I know I am.

I fixed the Youtube Downloader.  I wonder how long it'll stay working this time since it seems like Youtube keeps changing this coding. :)

I'm actually proud of myself as I worked out the coding to fix the issue.

I'm giving Hulu a try. Been watching old Major Dad episodes the last few days. Found the episode of Married with Children with Vanna White as a guest star. I have to admit that I think her acting in this is a lot better than her turning of those letters on Wheel of Fortune.

I wonder which show paid her more per episode...

Do you own a suit?

phd031408s.gifJen Slackenerny from PH.D. raises an interesting question: "What kind of grown man doesn't own a suit?" I don't own one.  Not even a sports coat.  I've got a couple of dress shirts hanging in the closet.  A ton of ties. (When I worked for Eckerds, we had to wear them.  I liked collecting the weirdest ones that i could find.) I don't go to weddings or funerals.  I don't really dress up for anything.  God knows that I don't date any more.

Anyone else care to step up and admit that they don't own one?

We're moving...

Changing hosts.  If you see the red banner up top, you're at the old site.  I'm going to switch over to a gray layout once the move is complete.

edit: Currently rebuilding. Things may be broken for a bit.

Bruce Waginslaw left a comment awhile back on my post where I was asking folks to suggest some webcomics for me. He suggested two that he does. Gotta admit that I'm more into story line webcomics like Multiplex, MegaTokyo (which I still have problems spelling) and Order of the Stick while these are more one panel works but I did get a chuckle out of them so I'll give him a plug and add them into the links page.

Savage Chickens and WebDonuts

Give them a try today and let me know what you think.  When you visit Savage Chickens, to flip through the comics, take a look at the Cartoons box along the left hand side.  That lists the current comic you're looking at as well as the previous ones.  That's the only way I could figure out how to go through the previous comics.

If anyone else cares to suggest a comic, please feel free to do so in the comments to this post.

How to Dry a Cat

I came across this over at DeviantArt.  I thought it was funny.  The Daria voices sound pretty good as well.

Make sure you watch it all the way through as the screen caps at the end are fun as well.

First we have free coffee and now we've got free french fries.

With Matt Kenseth's win at Atlanta, Arby's is giving away free curly french fries today. All you have to do is print out a copy of the attached email or cut out the race results from your local newspaper.  Bring them to your local Arby's and they'll give you a free medium curly fry.

I've just got to figure out some way of printing out the coupon for me to get mine.
HardeesNew_4color.gifIt's strange that no one is blogging about this but Hardee's is doing Free Coffee on Monday's for the time being.  I don't see anything on their website about the promotion but there's signs up all over their stores.  They're probably doing this to promote their new Channel Islands Roasting Company coffee that they have introduced.  There's no mention on how long this will last and the employees I asked didn't know either.

I got my free cup this morning.  I'm debating on hitting them again on the way home.
