June 2008 Archives

Wow, I don't have a video games category.  /me gone to put one in there.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the Wii Fit told a 10-year-old she's fat.  What bothers me though is comments like "Only about 10% of children are truly overweight" when that clearly isn't true.  The father states that his daughter only weighs "six stone" but that still seems a bit heavy.  Six stone for us Americans is 84 pounds.

Yesterday I added in Babylon 5 - Born to the Purple.  Today, we have The Parliament of Dreams.  Give it a watch.

Description: G'Kar is hunted by a hired political assassin. Sinclair and Catherine reconcile their past differences and renew their romance.

edit: I really wish Hulu would let folks embed the high resolution version of their videos

I met someone I graduated from high school with while on campus yesterday. He was bringing his daughter to college freshman orientation.

I feel old.

Legally Blonde the Musical.

And it's coming to Charlotte next year.
Luke wasn't impressed.  I thought she was pretty good for a ten year old.
crispygamer.pngI've been reading Backwards Compatible and Ding for a bit over at Crispy Gamer for a few weeks now and I really enjoy them. (OK, I wish Ding had more back story and published more often.  I'll admit to that.)  Imagine my surprise though to see in this comic a 30 day trial message for what I'm assuming to be the image uploader or ftp software.  Something labeled RADActive I-Load.  There's no less than 4 of the comics like that.

Now I don't mind folks using trial software.  Right now I'm using the 2nd release candidate of Movable Type 4.2. (And I just love how the auto-save sends the cursor to the front of the post every time it goes off.) I just would think that one should make sure stuff like that would be visible in a production environment.

Not being negative by the way.  It just bothers me.  Go read the comics. They're good for some laughs.

Anyone else thinking I'm finally getting around to cleaning out my bookmarks?

Anyway I don't recall where I found the link to this but check out the 41 Hilarious Science Fair Experiments.

And don't they look a little young to be discussing sex?

OK, yesterday you had Babylon 5 - Soul Hunter.  Today, you get Babylon 5 - Born to the Purple.  Sinclair helps save Londo's political career when an exotic dancer steals Londo's secret files in order to gain her freedom from her sadistic slave owner.  Enjoy.

Yes, it's your favorite game show, all grown up now.

I can't remember how I came across this one but I got a chuckle out of it.  Wish it was longer.

This is so much not safe for work for language and somewhat graphic violence.
SRLastThumb.jpgI went to write up a description but for some reason no one really talks about this magazine.  It was the original TSR newsletter, published a total of 7 issues starting in 1975 but was then canceled and developed into The Dragon (aka Dragon and Dragon Magazine) and Little Wars.
