Would someone explain to me why Twitter changes everybody else's links into tinyurl links but they don't do it for mine?
It's weird.

Oh Dr Mike the thought of you being a newbie at twitter brings a smile to my face. Most people's links are tnyURL because they've installed the addon to Firefox to convert. Seriously think you need to read my "Quick Start Tip for New Twitterers". Looks like I need to add tinyURLs to the tips :)

it's not automatic, really. Sometimes it does it if the link is over a certain length and in the middle of the tweet.
most people do it manaully. http://is.gd is another URL shortener.
