Han Solo, P.I.

HanSoloLong story why I haven’t been around much.  I’ll discuss it another day.

This video came across Twitter a few days ago.  I have to admit that I was a fairly big Magnum, P.I. fan growing up.  Whoever did this put a fair amount of time into pasting up the video and matching it to the original opening credits of that show.

You can watch Harrison Ford (aka Han Solo) play a decent Tom Selleck (otherwise known as Thomas Magnum) after the fold.

And remember, you can download the video on the YouTube Downloader (Yes, it works again.  Sorry about that.) as an *.mp4 file.  It’s supposed to be available as an HD *.mp4 file but I can’t get the link to work right.  Maybe it’ll work for you.

Free Grand Slam Breakfast at Denny’s – 2/3/2009

dennys-weekday-breakfast-slam.jpgThis just came my way.  It’s being reported that Denny’s will run a commercial during the Superbowl offering a free grand slam breakfast on February, 3rd, 2009.   Haven’t seen much in the way of sites promoting this and I’m not going to be able to watch the Superbowl tonight.  Would love to hear back from someone if they see it on television.  We actually have a Denny’s here in Charlotte.  Well one left, just north of the city.

Here’s the copy:

Every guest from 6AM – 2PM on Tuesday will receive 1 free Grand slam, and 1 free coupon book with 8 coupons in it. Each coupon book has 4 BOGO’s, 2- 25% off coupons, 1 coupon good for free dessert , and 1 coupon good for a free order of pancake puppies. Each Denny’s in the US received 1,000 of these coupon books to hand out to guests on Tuesday who order a free Grand Slam.

Per Denny’s Corporate every store also received 500 Grand Slam rain check coupons. Denny’s has instructed each manger to hand these rain checks out good for a free Grand Slam to any guest who can’t wait.

Denny’s spent 3 million on the Super Bowl ad, and tons more on a full page ad this coming Monday in USA Today. They are taking this very seriously and instructing all stores to staff as if it’s a major Holiday and for the staff to be as friendly as humanly possible.

Commercial during the SuperBowl will announce this.

And don’t forget that we’ll have iHop’s Free Pancake Day on the 24th as well.

edit: This has now been confirmed.  A copy of the commercial is after the fold if you want to view it.

Barney Expresses His Own Opinion of the Election

barney.jpg

Well, I guess Barney’s upset that the Republicians pretty much lost the election.  He took out his anger on Jon Dekker, a member of the White House Press Corp from Reuters.

Maybe, as First Lady Laure Bush put it, “he was done with the paparazzi.”

He’s probably lucky Dick Cheney didn’t shoot him. 🙂

As an aside, what Barney was probably concerned about what all that stuff in the reporter’s left hand.

You Got Trouble at Dr. Mike’s

Not really.  Just a quick mention that we’re moving some accounts around this afternoon so stuff may not work right.  To keep you busy, he’s Conan O’Brien giving us his version of “Trouble” from the 2006 Emmy Awards.  I actually bookmarked this quite some time ago and have been looking for an excuse to use it.

Watch Avatar 317 Book 3 Chapter 17: Ember Island Players

avatar-the-last-airbender.jpgWell, it’s the opening few minutes of it.  Looks like it was filmed at a convention of some sort.  There wasn’t any information attached to the video.  The video is rather poor as well as the audio but you should be able to understand it.

I think it’s funny.

edit: It appears to be from a showing at New York Comic Con.

reedit: Replaced it with a (much) better version of the video.

Lite Brite or Die Hard

20070202aquatee.jpgHere’s another video mashup from the funny folks over at Chocolate Cake City.  I’ve included material about the Aqua Team Hunder Force scare in Boston before.  As Engadget mentioned, it’s a wonder why no one else ever noticed those signs.

What got me started on this was I just refound the Tom Hanks as James Bond video I had found previously.

The image comes from a New York Magazine article.
