Andrea reminded me recently about playing old DOS games that she's found on the net. I've been doing some searching online trying to find some of the old games that I used to play. Here's a site called Abandonia where I found a number of them. Heck, they even have Sword of the Samurai for download.
danddcollectorslist.jpgCheck out this fairly complete checklist of all of the Dungeons and Dragons material put out by TSR. It should be complete up to 2001.

ootssquare.gifOK, this one has been around for quite some time. I've been reading Order of the Stick and I've been enjoying it. The comic is drawn and authored in a deliberate stick figure style by Rich Burlew. It's based on fantasy RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons as well as today's D20 system. The comic goes back to 2003 so you;ve got a bit of reading to get up to date.

And I've already gone ahead and added to the links page. You can look at the other webcomics that I read there.

Play Travian

Been playing a new Online game I found: Travian. I'm linking to the main site but if you look along the top right there, there's links for servers for a number of different coutries. I play on the travian.us server myself.

You start off with a tiny village with only a couple of folks in it.  You slowly (and I do mean slowly) expand by resource collecting wood, grain, iron and clay.  Grain seems to be the one that goes fast as you have to pay that out every hour for upkeep for your population and your troops.  Yo can also build a warehouse and grainary to store your resources, a marketplace to trade among other players, an Embassy to form alliances, a blacksmith to strengthen your trrops, etc.

Feel free to give it a try today.  It's one of those games that you check in a few times each day for a few minutes.  And I've added it to the links page.

New Webcomic - Nodwick

Another new webcomic added to the link list.  We have added in Norwick.  It's Dungeons and Dragons based, having appeared for eons in the old Dragon Magazine that's now currently changing formats.  New comics appear to hit once a week.  Not sure of the day and I'm too tired to go digging around the website. (Plus the designer appears to like opening link in new windows.  I hate it when sites are designed like that.)

The comic is about a simple henchman who travels with three characters but runs into all sorts of trouble, normally because of the actions of the characters.

There's a healthy backlist of comics so it'll take you a while to read through them all.  Not many that connect together in an arc so you can poke around in there.  Give it a read today. :)
cover_500.jpgGotta admit that I'm not big on warez but considering all of these are out of print, very few of them are available as *.pdf download, and this is really the only way to get them, here's the first 240 Dragon Magazines available for download from rapidshare.com and megaupload.

edit: Part #2 of this list is over here.

I haven't done a desktop wallpaper in ages.

Check out a bunch of them based on the Elder Scrolls Computer Game series here. I really like this one from Morrowind:

Not that I'm trying to encourage piracy or anything but is anyone running eMule around here who maybe could grab me a couple of files please? The ports are blocked from here. :( I found some old Gangbusters games that I would love to have. :)

Paizo Publishing and Wizards of the Coast today announced the conclusion of Paizo's license to produce DRAGON and DUNGEON magazines effective September 2007. Publication of DRAGON and DUNGEON will cease with issues number 359 and 150, respectively.

"Today the internet is where people go to get this kind of information," said Scott Rouse, Senior Brand Manager of DUNGEONS & DRAGONSĀ®, Wizards of the Coast. "By moving to an online model we are using a delivery system that broadens our reach to fans around the world. Paizo has been a great partner to us over the last several years. We wish them well on their future endeavors."

"We at Paizo are very proud of the work we've put into DRAGON and DUNGEON during the past five years," says Erik Mona, Paizo's Publisher and Editor in Chief of DRAGON. "While we'll all miss working on these venerable magazines, our talented editorial and art staff as well as our phenomenal team of freelance contributors will continue to produce...

Read the full announcement here. For some reason though, they're still selling subscriptions on their website.
Gotta admit that I'm a fan even though I don't have my XBox anymore. I had to play the game with all sorts of cheats on though as I kept getting killed, even on the basic level. Here's a leaked video (with some strange music to go along with it) that I found flipping through the Recently published list here at wp.com
