I was going to promote Shamus Young's webcomic Chainmail Bikini but it appears he's no longer going to continue it.  Pity.

I will mention though that he has a pair of interesting articles posted about his take on Video Game Piracy and Digital Rights Management that may be of interest.  He even takes a shot at Penny Arcade's new game, On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness.

I don't run into the problem of re-registering my games that much.  The computer I have at home is fairly old and most of the games I play came out when DRM hadn't been created as a anti-piracy program.  I think the newest game I play is Morrowind and that came out in 2002. (I do have Oblivion but I know my system can't handle the graphics. Maybe in a few years.) I'm still going through the old Dungeon and Dragon's Gold Box games from way back when and those sit on my flash drive.  I have to type in a CD key when I install something but I don't mind doing that.

One comment that bothers me is how some folks who have purchased the game have to obtain a crack just to get around the security program.  I had that issue way back when when CD games first came out. (Trying to remember what game it was.  Maybe Pizza Tycoon?) I had a CD burner in that computer at the time and the game saw it and refused to play.

edit: Oh, forgot to mention that Mr. Young also did a Lord of the Rings Photoshop'ed webcomic called DM of the Rings.  It's finished now but it's a good read.  I wonder if he'll start a new one of the Hobbit.

Just a quick note to mention that I've added links to the Daily Sukoku puzzles over on the USAToday puzzle site to my Daily To Do list.  I've been playing them for quite a while now and can usually solve them.  They don't always score them correctly (Todays was a five star pluzzle which usually means it's the hardest to solve but I found it quite easy.) and it is a source of enjoyment.  (My thrills are cheap and easy.)

Maybe someday I'll learn how to spell Sukoku correct.  And maybe Firefox will add the word to it's dictionary. :)

I had a question about carrying gold and asked it. During the discussion, I thanked the responders for their responses trying to be polite. Imagine my surprise when I get a note from a moderator over there stating that I had spammed. His reasoning was that if a post does not add to the content of the discussion, it would automattically be considered spam. While I agree with that rule, can understand it and fully support it, please note that my thanking folks for their time is considered spam. That means politeness is spammy. Whoa! I also disagree with that I didn't add to the content of the discussion. My thanking folks acknowledged that I read the discussion and thanked them for their time. I had been told by another moderator that we should always stated that we had our questions answered and that's what I did. So I'm an evil spammer. I guess I should go hang my head in shame. Mind you that the forums are filled with worse issues that are being ignored. Bloodly hell.

Dragon Knights is back online as well. I'll be adding in some more mods shortly in teh next day or two. :) To do list stands at 96 items. :(

Just a quick note that I've gone ahead and installed a new game: Dragon Knights Play as a Wizard, Paladin, or Warrior. Battle monsters, go on quests and all that. I'm working on adding in new mods as I go. Please let me know if you have any issues. Thanks, -drmike
