I've been meaning to write this one for quite some time.  You'll have to forgive me for coming so close to the deadline.  My sister pointed me towards this.

Bangor Daily News is getting folks to knit or crochet a 6-inch square from washable yarn, such as cotton or acrylic, and send it to them. They will be sewn together into small blankets and donated to The Animal Orphanage and the Bangor Humane Society to serve as bedding for cats.

The deadline is February, 26th (I know.  I should have posted this earlier.) and those who get the squares in before then will have their names entered into a drawing form a couple of books.

As some folks have noted, I've had some photos here on the site recently.  Awhile back one of the folks I helped over in wordpress.com land went out and purchased themselves a new digital camera.  Not knowing what to do with their older one, they dropped me an email and asked if I wanted it.  Gotta admit that I've never felt comfortable with taking photos because of my thyroid tremor so even though I said yes, I was concerned about how they would come out.

Well I finally got a chance to offload the images from the camera.  You'll note that some of them are from last year.  I realized that I didn't have any card reader to read the SD card included with the camera.  Tommy and Donna from over at Brandon's Smile Ministry (I'm still trying to get Google to see their site first with a search for the name instead of mine.) were nice enough to go out and buy me a reader as well as a charger. 

Yes, some of the photos are very blurry.  I know that and pointing this out to me will just bother me so please don't do it.  Some photos I took 4 or 5 times trying to get a decent picture.  Heck, Donna took most of the street pictures in there.

I've got to go back and organize them and give them descriptions.  I'll do that in a day or two.

reedit: I've not given credit to the person who sent me the camera as I noticed that their site is no longer hosted on wp.com.  I don't know where they've moved to and I don't have their email address handy.  If they see this, please feel free to leave me a comment and I'll be happy to give a link and publicly thank you.

A quick note of thanks to the anonymous person who sent me the $25 Panera Bread gift card with the note of thanks for the work I've done on line. I got it in the mail this morning and have a store nearby here at UNCC. I am very grateful.

Yup, still here. Been having a lot of problems with daria.be lately and I'm still trying to get things worked out over there.

New month. Bought myself a monthly bus pass so I wouldn't have to walk around in the 90 degree weather we normally have during the month. Had some other bills as well this month as well as some small assistance to a couple of local clients as well so I'm once again tapped out.

I'm taking up a small collection and I apoligize for the short notice. Since everything's going to be closed this July 4th for the holiday, I'm going to try to take myself out for a couple of movies (Probably Shrek and the new Fantastic Four movies) and maybe some dinner. I'm hoping to come up with about $35 for Wednesday. If you would like to drop me a few bucks, I would be very grateful. I'll have a Paypal link up shortly in the sidebar.

Just a quick public thank you to BlogLily. She picked up the four *.pdf's I had listed on my wishlist and had RPGNow send me the links so I could download them. As some of you know, I lost all of my old books and gaming material when Angie split back in 1999. I've been slowly rebuilding my collection but it's a pain. Some of the stuff I've been able to get off of ebay but it's been hit and miss on titles as well as scam artists.

If I've helped you in the past and you would like to do something nice for me, RPGNow does Gift Certificates in $10 amounts.
