My First Project Wonderful Banner

My first Project Wonderful banner

I’ve been reading VR Comic for quite some time now.(Although I can’t find the blog post I made about them.  Oh well.) I noticed that they’ve added in Project Wonderful advertising to their site.  I’ve had Project Wonderful advertising on my own blog as well as the Youtube Downloader for quite some time now and have built up some funds to waste.  I’d thought I would give advertsing a try and see if it helps.  It’s not really an advertising banner.  It really there to 1) test the Project Wonderful system and 2) to say thanks for the comic.

edit: I want to add the advertising to the Devana game as well.  I have to do that sometime soon.

reedit: I’ve now done this for a couple of webcomics that I read.  Since I don’t have a whole lot of money, at the very least I can support them via this method.

Running out the door for the night but I wanted to give a quick plug for Imy the Comic.  I found it via a twitter that I’m not going to go back looking for.  Probably one of Frumph‘s.  It started out as one of those “The artist as the main character but, as the creator Irma puts it, it’s developed a life of it’s own, even down to strips about the hair color of the main character.

Please kindly give it a read.  It updates on Mondays and Thursdays.

New Webcomic – Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

I haven’t added this to the link list but I wanted to give a quick plug for Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal. It’s one of those once a day, random topic webcomics. I don’t normally read those but the comics did give me a chuckle.

I found it as it was one of the Project Wonderful bids that came across that account.  I’ve been finding a number of new webcomics via those folks.

Yet Another Webcomic Plug: Sheldon

I actually added this to the webcomic list a few days ago but never got around to blogging about it.  I’ve been reader the Dave Kellett webcomic Sheldon for a bit.  I can’t remember where I came across it but it’s good for a chuckle.

It’s about a ten year old boy for writes a computer program that speeds up the Internet and jumps his net worth up to $1.2 billion.  The story line gets away from the basic idea of the comic from time to time.  Looks like the comic restarted when it got picked up by United Features Syndicate in 2001.

Hmmm, that story line sounds a bit familiar.

Do you have any webcomics you want to plug?

Has Daria Made a Reappearance?

Has Daria Reappeared?

Has Daria Reappeared?

I’ve been reading Girls With Slingshots webcomic created by Danielle Corsetto for quite some time now. (I’ll be adding it to the links list shortly after I finish writing this.) I have to admit that I find a very striking resemblance between Daria and Clarice.  Besides them looking a like with their long red hair and glasses, they’re both quiet and have a love of books.  Granted Clarice has an interesting weekend job that may fit Jane more but it’s still close enough to make me wonder. (edit: Danielle talks about the origin of Clarice along with the first book released for this strip here.)

I wonder if The Angst Guy has noticed the resemblance?

Sohmer Goes Shopping at the Apple Store and Buys Out the Store

Sohmer, the writer and creator behind Least I Could Do webcomic, ran into his local Apple Store looking for accessories for his MacBook Air and it developed into an article about customer service.  Most of the comments that follow, I don’t have a problem with except for this one where a manager goes on about how he encourages his own employees to provide the best customer service that they can.  My problem with that is I wonder how much credit that manager give his employees.  I know for experience that little benefit gets down to the employee who goes out of his or her way to provide that wonderful customer support as usually the levels above that manager is told folks back or the manager is trying to keep his own butt covered by reducing costs.

My response is here and, yes, when I worked for Kinko’s, they had their local pot dealer on speed dial.  It was pretty sad.

Happy 600th Episode Order of the Stick

I’ve been reading Order of the Stick for quite some time now.  It’s one that I check out nearly every day.  Just noticed that Rich Burlew, the artist, has published his 600th comic. He’s actually done more than that as a number of comics are more than a single series of panels.  He’s also done a number of print versions only found in the books he puts out as well.  And then of course there’s the comics he ran in Dragon Magazine way back when as well.  But it’s still a good reason to check out the series.  With 600 comics, it’ll take you a bit to go through them all.

What to read. What to read.

I throw this out as a post every so often. (Hmm, I could have sworn I had done it since then.) I think I’ll do it again.

Anyone care to suggest a new webcomic to read?  I have about a dozen or so that I need to add to the list.  Just wondering if anyone has seen anything new.

You can see what I read on the links page.

I do hope that if you take the time to comment, you’ll also take the time to explain why you like a specific webcomic.
